Makin' Cookies

Gemma LOVES to bake. Every time I'm in the kitchen I hear a little voice pull at my heart "mom- can you teach me?" And well- I'm basically worthless at anything to do with food.. but I try! She is an expert cookie maker. She has a lot of Mark in her- she is very precise and loves to follow the directions exactly. Last time we made them she over cracked an egg (because... what mom would let a 3 year old crack an egg...) and she said "It's ok to make mistakes mom.. try and fix them and learn from them too" Thanks Daniel Tiger. Its been my number one goal to put away my phone, and actually play/engage/do activities with Gemma. Our relationship has grown because of it-- I hope for the rest of her life, every time she makes cookies, she thinks of me.
